A Surprise A Week
by Margaret Easter, RN, NP

Each week I am gratified by the amazing results of homeopathy in treating patients under my care. Recently I’ve seen an unusually rich mixture of results, including the following:

  • Relief of headaches, which felt like a tight band around the head, in a 50 year old male who had suffered for several years.

  • A 7 year old boy who had difficulty completing his written homework is now accomplishing it without difficulty and his teachers say he no longer becomes distracted in class.

  • Normal menses restored in a 42 year old female who had previously bled continuously for 20 years.

  • Another 42 year old female who couldn’t get to sleep without marijuana is now falling asleep without difficulty. In addition, after being in marginally productive psychotherapy for 10 years she has started to feel her feelings, and has been able to cry where she couldn’t before.

Sometimes my colleagues ask me, “What remedy would you use?” for a particular condition. I can never tell them, because the answer depends on what I find in my history and evaluation to be unique about the individual. There are many remedies for headaches, and for inability to concentrate, and for excessive bleeding, and for sleeplessness and depression. My goal in homeopathic treatment is to match the essence of each person to the known characteristics of various possible remedies and select the one that most closely resembles that particular individual’s constellation of symptoms. In homeopathy, this is known as using the law of similars.

Sometimes it takes more than one try. But I love doing this work, and my patients seem to appreciate the individual attention I offer. Their results seem to appear so naturally it’s hard for them to remember when things were any other way but OK.
