Background & Experience

Before becoming  interested in homeopathy, Margaret was a clinical nurse specialist with the National Institutes of Health where she managed HIV/AIDS research protocols and assisted in creating the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine.  Earlier, she provided women’s health care as a nurse practitioner at the Orange County Health Department in Orlando, FL and served the Seminole County Health Department as nursing director.  She also provided well-woman gynecologic care for the Tallahassee Feminist Women’s Health Center and taught nursing at both Santa Fe Community College and Shands Teaching Hospital in Gainesville, FL.  She is a member of the Maryland Nurse Practitioner Association, the Homeopathic Nurses Association, the National Center for Homeopathy, and has served on the Board of the American Institute of Homeopathy.


Education

Margaret graduated from Cornell University-New York Hospital School of Nursing in 1961. In 1967 she received her Masters in Nursing from the University of Florida and in 1977 earned her nurse practitioner certificate from Meharry Medical College.  In 1988, she completed her three year post-graduate homeopathic training and examinations with the Canadian Academy of Homeopathy, and in 2003 received her certification in classical homeopathy from the Homeopathic Certification Council. She maintains active nursing licensure in MD and DC, and national nurse practitioner certification.

 sensitivities and then selects a homeopathic remedy to match that person’s unique attributes and  disease symptoms.  Her case analysis reflects both the patient’s own health history, and that of the family of origin.  After the remedy is taken, she stays in touch to be sure each person is experiencing gentle healing. While patients often comment on the therapeutic effect of simply telling her about themselves, Margaret expects the magical healing power of the remedies to go far beyond what she provides by being a good listener.
